Short version: we set no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you don't see a consent banner.
WHAT WE USE
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| cookesgames.cart.v1 | Local storage (not a cookie) | cookesgames.co.uk | Remembers the items in your basket between visits. Never sent to our servers until you check out. | Until you clear it or empty your basket |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid and similar | Essential cookies | Stripe, on the checkout page only | Fraud prevention and keeping your payment session secure | Session to 1 year |
ANALYTICS
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and measure performance. It works without cookies and without storing anything on your device. It records a hashed, rotating identifier that cannot be used to recognise you across sites or sessions, and it collects no personal data.
WHY THERE IS NO BANNER
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require consent for cookies and similar storage except where they are strictly necessary for a service you have asked for. Everything listed above is either strictly necessary (your basket, secure payment) or doesn't store anything on your device (analytics). If we ever add non-essential cookies, we'll add a consent banner first and update this page.
MANAGING STORAGE
You can clear local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. Clearing storage for cookesgames.co.uk empties your basket. Blocking Stripe's cookies will prevent checkout from working.
